Our Commitment To Wellbeing
Our small but remarkable school prides itself on the pastoral care provided to each and every member of our school family. Our entire school approach aims to cultivate an atmosphere that promotes tolerance, resilience, fairness and equal opportunities for everyone.
We believe pupils are happiest when they are busy! That is why there are over 38 clubs to choose from. From Art and Craft to Zumba; we have your child covered. When children can find something to inspire and challenge them, their wellbeing grows. We learn at the beach, in the forest, around the garden, in the kitchen and in the classroom. All of which build great relationships between the children and staff.
At Battle Abbey Prep School, we introduce your child to the wonderful world of learning, in a happy, caring and supportive environment surrounded by thoughtful and approachable staff. We have a team of people who are responsible for the pastoral care of our children when they need some extra support. Our Wellbeing Lead is trained in Mental Health First Aid and part of this role includes promoting children’s safety and well-being and implementing specific interventions for pupils.
Form Tutors monitor progress, development and wellbeing of every pupil under their care so that each pupil feels that they can discuss any issue they might have with someone who knows them as an individual. Every class has a ‘Worry Monster’ and children are free to note down any concerns. These are then read and addressed by the class teachers. We also have a school Counsellor who facilitates one to one sessions, as well as break-out sessions for smaller groups.
