St. Mary’s House have been fund raising to sponsor an orphaned Elephant through the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust this year. Earlier this term St. Mary’s ambassador Maisie S (who has family links in the area) travelled to Kenya to visit teh trust with the hope of meeting the St. Mary’s Elephant! The Sheldrick Trust’s flagship conservation activity is the Orphans’ Project, which has achieved world-wide acclaim through its hugely successful elephant and rhino rescue and rehabilitation program. St Mary’s have so far raised £700 towards the campaign and, although Maisie unfortunately didn’t meet the actual orphaned Elephant in question, she did manage to grab some time with staff and hang out with Toto (pictured here with his friends). @sheldricktrust
