This terms Society Fair took place in the Abbot’s Hall on Thursday last week. Pupils could choose from one of approx 35 different societies with topics, content and activities as diverse as film and broadcasting, debating, politics, ecology, mindfulness, war games and horse riding to name but a few. Alternatively pupils could enter themselves for a raft of national competitions with preparation and entry handled during society time (weekly on a Thursday afternoon) These include various academic challenges, entry into the UK Maths Olympiad and Sports Leadership. The Societies are based around our Academic Faculties and are led by our student Bronzes in the Sixth Form. The pupils work with teachers to provide Supra-Curricular opportunities that offer students the chance to go beyond what they have learnt in their lessons. All the activities allow students to take control of their learning and stretch themselves to go beyond the curriculum.
