House Egg Drop! Houses were tasked with ensuing their Egg remained unbroken after a descent from the Abbot’s Hall balcony. In front of a raucous audience the House teams from years 7, 8 9 and 10 were given points for ‘Descent time’, ‘Intactness of Egg post landing’ and whether they managed to get the egg into the demarcated ‘landing zone’ on the Abbot’s Hall floor. The pupil judging team, consisting of prospective Heads of House, ably assisted by the Science department and a posse of enthusiastic pupil helpers, could also award points for style. We can tell you that St Martin’s Year 8 team were awarded additional points for ‘floatyness of descent, though for the final results we will have to wait til Mark Reading!
