Year 9 are making clay masks inspired by the triangular shapes found in the painting ‘The Weeping Woman’ by Pablo Picasso. Students manipulated self portrait photographs, making visual connections to the artist’s work. They are gradually building up the surface in clay to create a base on which to create self portrait masks. With financial support from FOBAS and the Battle Abbey School bursary, the school has recently added a kiln to ots facilities. All clay work will be fired in the school kiln when finished. #kiln #claywork #pablopicasso
