Mrs Ingall’s Year 7 Religious Studies class have recently started their new topic: ‘Freedom festivals’ and to get the topic moving, they explored the moral and ethical thinking behind the concepts ‘Freedom from’ and ‘Freedom to’. Pupils had a collection of different scenarios, themes and ideas to challenge them about what they should/could be free from and free to do. They had to work in groups to decide where each one should go, before justifying the decision. It meant that there was a lot of discussion to be had! Opportunities like this allow students to develop their oracy and debating skills and explore concepts from different perspectives. #freedom
