Battle Abbey School is celebrating an excellent set of iGCSE Mathematics results this week. An impressive 70% of pupils achieved grades 6–9, with just under half of the cohort securing grades 7–9, equivalent to traditional A and A* grades.
At Battle Abbey School, pupils sit their iGCSE Mathematics examination early. This strategic approach allows valuable curriculum time in these crucial final terms to be redirected towards subjects that require additional focus, helping to maximise overall academic outcomes. It is just one of the ways in which each pupil’s educational journey is carefully tailored to meet their individual needs.
Hannah Blake, Battle Abbey School Headteacher, commented:
“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to parents for the ongoing support, encouragement, and reassurance they provide at home. This can be an intense period for families as well as students, and the strong partnership between home and school plays a vital role in building pupils’ confidence and readiness.”
Attention will now turn to post-16 pathways, with the school actively engaging parents throughout this important next stage.
Staff are already working closely with students to explore their interests, strengths, and ambitions. Through individual guidance meetings, subject advice, and opportunities to learn more about Sixth Form life, the school aims to ensure that every student feels informed, confident, and supported in making the choices that are right for them. Over the coming weeks, structured guidance, clear information, and open discussion will continue to ensure that the transition into post-16 study is both purposeful and positive.
