The spring term has seen our young film makers working on a project with the provisional title of ‘The Abbey Tapes’. The story, about a band of intrepid pupil explorers and their run in with the ‘black monk’ in the ruins, has seen pupils directing, scripting, acting and even creating music for the project. Our sources tell us that the team hope to finish the project this term ready for the film to be premiered at the end of the school year. Watch this space!
BBC is just one of some 30 societies that run as part of the School curriculum on a Thursday afternoon. These are led by our student Bronzes in the Sixth Form who work with teachers to provide Supra-Curricular opportunities that offer students the chance to go beyond what they learnt in their lessons. During Societies Hour students can take classes in a range of activities including Forensics; World Literature; Maths Olympiads; Horse Riding; Golf and more.
All the activities are designed to allow students to take more control of their learning and stretch themselves to go beyond the curriculum.
