Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) presentations

Here are some highlights from our most recent Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) presentations — a showcase of the independence, creativity, and academic rigour that define our Sixth Form.
The EPQ has become a cornerstone of our Sixth Form curriculum, with an ever-growing number of students choosing to undertake this prestigious qualification. Worth up to 28 UCAS points — approximately half an A Level — the EPQ is highly regarded by universities for the valuable skills it cultivates. These include independent and critical thinking, self-directed research, reflective learning, time management, and the ability to communicate ideas effectively through both written work and formal presentations.
Students are free to choose their own topic, provided it has academic relevance or links to their future career aspirations. This year’s cohort tackled an exciting array of subjects, from “How Extremism Affects Young People Online” and “The Influence of the Media on Political Views” to “Controversy in the Investigatory Powers Act.” Artefact-based projects were equally impressive, with pupils producing short films and even writing, directing, and performing original plays.
The EPQ continues to provide an outstanding platform for students to pursue their interests with depth and purpose — preparing them brilliantly for life beyond school.
