93% A* and A for this year’s EPQ Students

The results are in and this year our EPQ cohort have been particularly successful, with 60% of students achieving an A*, 93% attaining an A or A*, and 100% securing grades between A* and C.

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is an independent research project that allows students to explore a topic of their choice in depth. Students develop key skills such as critical thinking, research, time management, and academic writing, culminating in either a dissertation, artefact, or performance, supported by a presentation.

Projects this year covered a wide and engaging range of topics, including studies of The Lord of the Rings in both book and film, the re-illustration of a children’s book, and essays exploring Troy, D-Day, and concussions in rugby. This breadth of student-chosen topics allowed participants to pursue interests beyond the curriculum while gaining a valuable qualification.

The EPQ is offered to all Year 12 students, beginning in February.
